Apartment, Take 2!

17 Aug

As promised, I wanted to post some pictures of our NEW apartment (scroll down a few postings if you missed ‘The Move! 🙂 ).  I think I’m actually going to do two posts today- one for the apartment and one for the park it sits in (yes, that’s how cool the park is in itself!!)  Ha!

Since I got fussed at for not posting pictures of the outside of the buildings…Very few apartment buildings are pretty on the outside! I think this one looks like a library 🙂

We are on the 2nd floor, the balcony you can see in the distance in the middle of the silver and red cars...The door to the building is directly below us.

The new apartment is all on one level, a flat :), with a living room/dining room combination…

I'm taking the picture from the dining room table. The windows look out the front of the building to the park. The door to the right of them goes onto the balcony.

Taken from balcony door looking back toward dining area. The huge mirror helps to make it really bright during the day 🙂

The kitchen is a narrow, galley-style, but actually has way more space (especially counter space!) than our first place.  Best part? It opens onto the balcony with the ‘kitchen table’.  We leave the door open just about all the time so it’s as if the balcony is just more living space…

Light tile floors, dark tile walls and brand new wood counter tops. Fridge and oven are built into the cabinets on the right.

From the balcony. Behind me is the door to living room, to the immediate right is the kitchen, then down the balcony on the right are doors to both bedrooms. At the end is a storage closet.

We have 1 1/2 bathrooms.  You can really see the colors in the half bath- the kitchen and the master bath use the same tiles and stones…

Half Bath...We love the stones on the back wall.

Master Bath. After our construction project last year, John can't help but talk about how 'Larry and I would've done this, done that, etc.' 🙂 The door at the end goes into the laundry room.

Master Shower. I was standing here to take the previous picture. So in other words, the bathroom is long and skinny.

We have 2 bedrooms, a smaller spare room and a master.  Both open onto the balcony, so are really used as part of the living space 🙂

Spare Room. We really like how they added 'ambient lighting' to all the ceilings. (Cut me some slack, we remodeled our own house last year, so we notice these things!)

The wall of closets is behind me. And yes, that animal pelt bothers the hell outta me, but it won't come down!

Well there you have it, that’s our crib! 🙂  We’re really liking it, and SO much more than our last one!  Just the feeling you get when you’re in the right place for YOU.  This, along with the park and the surrounding area, truly feels like a ‘home’ and is so much more our style.  OK, so I’m headed out to walk the pups, then fix some lunch.  This afternoon I’ll post pictures of the park 🙂
